Of course, we all know why humans hate us, why they fear and deride those who reside in the dark. They desperately wish they could be us, but they know it's beyond their reach. So, as the fox declares that the grapes are sour, the people declare that we are monsters. But we know better. We see the way they imitate us. The way they stalk vulnerable prey, mimicking our hunting patterns. The way their rituals substitute their wine for our blood. The way they organize themselves into byzantine, redundant hierarchies, desperately struggling to recreate the elegance of our societies. Jealousy turns into rage so easily. At the end of the day, it's because they know we're better than them.
