Incandescent Rage

You grit your teeth. You can feel a burning sensation creeping up your spine. Your wings give a slight twitch as the flames lick the back of your throat. Two of your eyes are shut tightly, the rest are rolling uncontrollably in their sockets. Your halo is getting shaky, the axis around which it rotates juddering from side to side. It spits sparks in all directions. You can't hold this back. You saw her. You didn't see what happened, but you saw the result. Saw the gashes, the blood dripping from them, the faintest hint of bone. You're not supposed to do this, but you can't stop yourself.

Your eyes flash open, and all hundred of them quickly focus ahead of you, flame bursting out of them. You leap into the sky, twin trails of fire following the tips of your wings as you spread them, quickly picking up speed as you shoot upward. You weren't told to do this, there'll be hell to pay. But you'll take it out of someone else first.
